In a perfect Lynchian moment a few weeks back, without reason I walked out the front door (can't remember exactly why), and sitting neatly on the footpath in front of the step, in the sun, was this:

It's a strip of three images shot on expensive slide film (Fuji Velvia - RVP).

It appears to be the intersection of La Trobe & King St in the CBD.

Two issues being:
  • The empty block the camera is pointing at now holds an approx. 10 storey building which contains William Angliss College, and has since the mid 1990s.
  • None of the cars appear to be newer than circa 1987-88.
So this slide film has either been hiding under the concrete for fifteen years, or people are just carrying old slide photos of banal subject matter around for no reason. Or it got teleported in from 1988 after being sucked into a time-eddy during a freak hailstorm.

Other items that have appeared in the same way in recent weeks have included:
  • A pair of shoes
  • A sarong or wrap-garment-thing of some kind
  • Sample squares of carpet
After much deliberation, and careful consideration of all the facts at hand, I have come to the conclusion that I live in an area where people just drop shit for no reason THERE IS A GIANT RIFT IN THE SPACE-TIME CONTINUUM THAT THREATENS TO DESTROY EVERYTHING (except members of the appropriate doomsday cult). Evidently I've got some cult-joining to do.

Thankyou and good day.

Watch out, the TARDIS may appear on the naturestrip & start recharging the batteries. Failing that, move to Cardiff.

I was thinking of moving to Cardiff, but Bad Wolf airlines didn't have any direct flights.
